The world of Disney and the world of strollers are two equally daunting places, so when you combine the two, it’s no wonder that trying to find the best stroller for Disney World can be an overwhelming task.
Disney’s strict stroller policies change all the time so it’s important that you base your decision on the most up-to-date recommendations, otherwise, you may end up having to leave your stroller behind and rent an expensive and uncomfortable stroller from Disney (more on that later).
But don’t worry, in this post, I will walk you through everything you need to know for a trip this year and give you my tried and tested recommendations for all types of strollers (single, double, budget, and more).
When the average person walks 7-10 miles every day around the park so this is not an area to compromise if you want to have a fun family day out. I think taking a stroller to Disney is a must for kids up to at least 5 years old.
Types of Strollers Allowed at Disney
While finding a stroller for Disney can seem like a bit of a burden since you have many needs you must balance with the rules, it’s not as hard as it seems. Most strollers will be allowed as long as they aren’t the biggest of the big strollers out there.
Disney Stroller Policy is Simple:
- Strollers must be smaller than 31” (79 cm) in width and 52” (132cm) in length
- You cannot use strollers in queues for rides
- No strollers at Disney restaurants
- Children can’t sit in strollers on any type of transport (buses, monorails, etc.)
- Must fold your stroller on all types of transport
Wagons at Disney World
Unfortunately, no type of stroller wagon is allowed at Disney (this even includes push wagons).
Even though wagons are the absolute best thing to use at most theme parks (we took one to Universal Studios and loved using it), Disney doesn’t allow them, so you’ll need to leave it at home.
Things to Consider Before Choosing a Stroller for Disney
Now that we’ve got the regulations out of the way and you know what to expect, here are some other things that I recommend you think about before deciding on what stroller to bring to Disney.
Choose a good folding stroller
As you may have noticed from the Disney rules above, it’s pretty important that your stroller can be folded down.
If you don’t bring a foldable stroller, you won’t be able to ride any of the public transport at Disney which will severely impact your day.
Another thing I recommend is that you get a stroller that is particularly easy to fold and unfold (preferably with one hand). You’ll end up doing this quite a lot during the day while also trying to keep an eye on your kids, so making it as easy as possible will be a lifesaver, trust me!
Think about what size and functions you will need
The age of your children definitely changes the type of stroller you need at Disney World. Older toddlers will be fine with a smaller, simpler stroller for sitting, but a 2-year-old will need a place to nap when they get exhausted from all the excitement (pretty much guaranteed at Disney).
For napping kids, I recommend getting a stroller with a big canopy and a recline as you’ll be out in the sun all day. That being said, don’t go too big as you won’t get anywhere in the crowds. The smallest stroller you can get that fits your needs is going to be your best option.
Jogging strollers
Even though jogging strollers are designed to be fast, you’re not going to be going anywhere fast at Disney when you’re surrounded by crowds.
I don’t understand why people recommend jogging strollers for Disney because they’re actually really big and it’s hard to maneuver them around.
Rain cover
It can rain in Florida at random. A rain cover (regardless of what time of year you visit Disney) is a must. Yep, when it rains, it pours at Disney World and there might not be much warning. We learned this the hard way when our stroller got soaked while we were on a ride…
Renting a Stroller at Disney World
While it is possible to rent a stroller at Disney, I don’t actually recommend renting from the park itself (trust me, I’ve done it).
The biggest downside is that you cannot bring a stroller back to your hotel (even if staying at a Disney hotel). By the end of a big day out your little ones are almost guaranteed to be exhausted, if not already asleep, which makes getting back to your hotel more difficult.
Disney Strollers are also super uncomfortable. They’re made of plastic, not very easy to maneuver and the seats don’t recline.
With prices starting at around $15 per day and all these flaws, it’s honestly just not worth it to rent a stroller from Disney parks. However, if you really want to rent a stroller, I recommend doing it through a different company like Kingdom Strollers or BabyQuip. They have a much better range and can even deliver it straight to the airport or your hotel.

Baby Jogger City Tour – Best Single Stroller for Disney
You’ll see plenty of Baby Jogger City Mini strollers around Disney as it’s a popular choice with third-party rental companies.
Even though it’s not the best travel stroller out there, it’s found a great balance between being compact, durable, easily foldable, and highly maneuverable.
The wheels on this stroller are great on any surface and it has all the features needed for napping kids like a good recline, large sunshade, and plenty of storage.
Babyzen Yoyo Stroller – Best Travel Stroller for Disney
If you’ve read any of my other stroller review articles, you’ll know that I’m a big fan of travel strollers, in particular, carry-on strollers that fit in the overhead bins. So if you’re a family like ours that loves to travel, I highly recommend investing in a travel stroller that is also good for Disney like this one.
The Babyzen Yoyo ticks all the boxes, especially if you’re traveling with a small baby as it has the option of a breathable portable bassinet. This is much better than the alternative car seat travel systems that aren’t recommended for all-day use.
Uppababy G-Luxe – Best Budget Stroller for Disney
Even though this isn’t my favorite stroller, if you’re looking for a reliable budget umbrella stroller option, the Uppababy G-Luxe will do the trick.
The capacity of 55 lbs and slight recline means it will last you a few years as the kids get older and it has a great carry strap that will make your life a lot easier.
There are a few other options in the budget category like the Dream on Me or GB Pockit but I would always recommend the Uppababy G-Luxe (or stroller or Chicco Liteway as an alternative) as you will need to carry the Dream on Me and maneuvering the GB Pockit is terrible.
Zoe Traveler – Best Disney Stroller for Tall Children
Overall I don’t actually think the Zoe Traveler is the best stroller for Disney as it’s quite pricy yet nowhere near as good as some of the other popular options like Babyzen, Joolz, or Bugaboo
That being said, if you’re looking for another option that can accommodate taller children, it’s worth a look. Out of all the models (I tested the Traveler and Tour+ models), I like this one the most.
Zoe Twin – Best Double Stroller for Disney
For anyone with two little youngsters who will both need to use the stroller at the same time, the Zoe Twin is my top pick.
Both seats function individually and recline all the way flat so you can easily adjust for each child’s maximum comfort. Plus the canopies are super big making it a dream stroller not only for Disney but also for everyday life.
