Swimming in Wadis
Diving into the crystal-clear waters of Oman’s wadis will be a dream for anyone who loves to explore the outdoors. All of the Wadis in Oman required at least a little bit of hiking, but that’s all part of experiencing the adventures in Oman and a great way to see the natural landscape. Also, some of the Wadis can only be reached by driving a 4 x 4 but definitely not all of them.

Explore The Traditional Souqs of Oman
The perfect way to mix adventure and culture in Oman is to visit some of the traditional Souqs. Witness Sea Turtle Nesting
For many, this could be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and being in Oman will make it even more special. Witness the incredible sight of sea turtle nesting on the sandy beaches.
Oman has 5 of the world’s 7 species of sea turtles, Green Turtle, Loggerhead, Hawksbill, the Olive Ridley Turtle and Leatherback Turtle. From May to October, these gentle giants return to their ancestral nesting grounds, where you can observe them laying their eggs under the moonlit sky. As with all wild animal encounters these experiences aren’t guaranteed, maybe the turtles won’t feel like showing up the day you’re there. But it’s definitely still worth a shot.
Two of the best places to witness nesting sea turtles, particularly if your trip to Oman is for two weeks or less are;
The beaches surrounding Sur and Ras Al Jinz. And, the Ras Al Jinz turtle reserve (which is also a hotel), is a key destination for anyone wanting to sight turtles as they have their own 6km deserted beach. If you aren’t staying at the hotel, for a fee of 8 OMR you can join one of their tours and information sessions.
